BARONG BRUTUK DANCE
Barong Brutuk is a sacred dance for the people of Terunyan, Kintamani District. This dance is performed biennially, on the occassion of Temple ceremony called Sabha Gede at Pura Pancering Jagata ceremony to celebrate the patron guardian of the village, Ratu Sakti Pancering Jagat on purnama sasih kapat around October. This dance can only be performed by adolescent boys (Sekeha Teruna) of that village. The boys, accompanied by the village elders, have to fulfill certain requirements such as be successful in following sanctity ceremony for 42 days in Pura Pancering Jagat with certain offerings.


 

The unique part of this dance is the costume used called Bulu which is of much different from costurne used on other Balinese dances. These costumes consist of two part. The inner part is called 'selibah' made of the branches of banana leaves where the dry banana leaves are tiedup as the main.


 

KEHEN TEMPLE
Pura Kehen is one of ancients temples in Bali where were housed three old bronze made manuscipts. This temple is worshipped by the people around the village. The ceremony takes place on Rabu Kliwon Shinta where Ngusabha ceremony is held one in a three years period, which is fall on Purnama kelima around November. This temple is located on the southern slope of Bangli hill about two kilometers from the town. It is really an historical temple worth visiting with a long plight of steps pointing down to the south. It can be reached by any mode of transports though a well keptasphalted road, or a short walk from Bangli cultural Hall. (Sasana Budaya Bangli).
