Goa Lawa Temple

The famous Goa Lawah (bat cave temple) : is located 9 Km from Semarapura Town to the east. Due to its location on the sea side with the sea view panorama which is supported by Nusa Penida Island make this tample is very interesting to visit. This temple is named Goa Lawah, because there is a cave in the temple which is occupied by thousands of bats. The combination between the beautiful surrounding and the unique Bat Cave make it as one of the favorite destination in Klungkung Regency.


Klotok Temple : This temple is 5 Km southward of Semarapura Town. It is very important temple for its strongly close relation to big festivals held in Besakih mother temple. Its function is to beg for blessing from the Almighty God for the yield of crops in prosperity. Colorful retinue of procession are often seen crowding the temple surrounding, particularly during purification ceremonies. It is really fascinating to watch the panorama of the temple for the scenic background of rice-field and Mount Agung in distance.


Dasar Temple : This Temple is situated at Gelgel Village, 3 Km south of Semarapura. It is one of the most important temple in Bali, since it is Kahyangan Jagat (which means that the people of all strata and clans in Hindu Balinese may come to worship in this temple). It is ancient with artistic appearance makes this temple frequented by a great deal of people especially to watch the festival so that it look like a fair at night.


Kentel Gumi Temple : This Temple is situated at Banjarangkan, ( 7 Km west of Semarapura, 33 Km east of Denpasar).With its "Gapura Candi Kurung" demonstrates a unique appearance. This temple belongs to "Kahyangan Jagat", visited by worshippers of all clans during the festival. Various kind of old remnants within reflecting as ancient one.


Panti Timbrah Temple : This temple is located in the village of Paksebali, 3 Km east of Semarapura. To complete the implementation of the temple festival here, a very interesting event called "Dewa Maseraman", (Deities joyous dancing) is held. In this attraction, 7 palanquins one of which bears long white hair with a cloth of black and white surrounding. It is surrounded by the other six ones. In the motion of pushing here and there, finally the one with long white hair and black and white cloth as the winner. The festival is usually held every 6 month of Balinese calendar, namely one day after the Kuningan holyday.
